Welcome to the official State of Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry Web Site. Please read the following ALERT before proceeding to view information concerning individuals required to register with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry.
SCAM ALERT FOR REGISTRANTS: Registered sex offenders have reported receiving calls from an individual(s) claiming to be a law enforcement official/Wisconsin Department of Corrections Sex Offender Registry, telling the registrant that they are not complying with registration/DNA requirements. In some cases the scam caller has claimed there is a warrant for the registrant's arrest, sends the registrant "official-looking" documents like an arrest warrant or states there is a court order to obtain a new DNA sample. The scam caller tells the registrant the ONLY way the issue can be resolved is by buying a cash card or arranging a money transfer, citing the need for bail or a fine payment.
SCAM ALERT: Law enforcement officers OR the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry will NEVER CALL/REQUEST registered sex offenders provide money to comply with registration/DNA requirements. Anyone receiving such a scam call should not make ANY transaction or provide any information and should contact local Law Enforcement or the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry main line at (608) 240-5830. Please check for updates on the WI DOC Sex Offender Registry website.

Conditions of Use:
This data is being provided on the Internet to make the information more easily available and accessible, not to warn about any specific individual. This Web site allows the criminal justice community to promote public awareness concerning the potential threat that sex offenders pose to Wisconsin's citizens.
Sex Offenders have always lived in our communities, but it was not until the passage of the registration law in 1997 that law enforcement was authorized to notify the public of a sex offender's whereabouts. Furnishing the public with information regarding convicted sex offenders is a critical step towards encouraging the public to develop constructive plans to prepare themselves and their families. Additional information about ways to reinforce personal protection is available in our on-line publications and on the Department of Corrections Victim Web Site.
Scope
The Wisconsin Department of Corrections sex offender registry was established in June 1997 due to the enactment of Wisconsin Act 440 - Wisconsin Statutes 301.45 and 301.46. This law requires registration of individuals who have been convicted of certain sexual offenses. By law, the registry generally contains information on those individuals who were convicted of, incarcerated, or on supervision for a sex offense on or after December 25, 1993. It is not a list of every person who has ever committed, been arrested for, or convicted of a sex offense. If a person has not been convicted of a qualifying offense, or if information has not been submitted about that person, information about that person may not be included in the registry. The information contained in the registry will not reflect the entire criminal history of a particular individual.
DOC has not considered or assessed the specific risk of re-offense with regard to any registrant prior to the registrant's inclusion within this registry. Individuals are included in the registry solely by virtue of their conviction record and state law.
